kNOw Knife Crime
A youth focused anti knife crime campaign talking knife crime through education, events and support.
The work that we doA warm welcome
I’m Laura Hughes, founder of the #kNOwKnifeCrime campaign — a youth-focused anti-knife crime initiative created in memory of my brother, Colin McGinty. Colin was tragically murdered in a terrible case of mistaken identity, and our family was left devastated by a senseless act of violence that should never have happened.
Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to raising awareness and preventing other families from going through the same heartbreak. Our ambition is to work with young people across the country to educate them about the dangers of carrying a knife or being associated with those who do.
We believe knife crime continues to impact too many lives, and that education is one of the most powerful tools we have for prevention. By starting conversations, empowering young people, and promoting life-saving knowledge, we’re determined to drive change — one community at a time.
Powered by Partnerships
Every penny raised through Cash for Kids as part of the #kNOwKnifeCrime campaign directly funds youth anti-knife crime prevention projects and activities, helping us educate, engage, and empower young people across our communities.
