We are delighted to announce that kNOwKnifeCrime has secured funding through the Merseyside Community Investment Fund, managed by the Community Foundation for Merseyside.
The funding will enable us to deliver 5 fully funded Every Second Counts workshop days in colleges across the Liverpool City Region during the 2026/27 academic year, reaching up to 850 young people.
Every Second Counts combines knife crime awareness with practical bleed control education. Each delivery day includes an assembly followed by three interactive workshops, delivered by kNOwKnifeCrime alongside a trauma paramedic.
Students will explore the realities and consequences of knife crime, including joint enterprise, while also learning practical skills to recognize and respond to a life-threatening bleed. These are skills that aren't limited to knife-related incidents but can be used in any emergency involving serious bleeding.
As part of each delivery day, kNOwKnifeCrime will also donate a bleed control kit to the college, helping to improve access to potentially life-saving equipment.
Being able to deliver these workshops fully funded means we can remove the financial barrier for colleges and give more young people access to education and practical skills that could one day help save a life.
